Events
Helping to plan and promote events for alumni, student families, and friends of the university, we're focused on engagement as well as donor acquisition and appreciation.
Typically, my role in programming includes finding stories (identifying people with moving experiences to relate), recruiting "talent" and helping them with scripting their remarks, contributing to video productions by interviewing subjects and structuring the story, and integrating asks/CTAs where appropriate. To see the first segment I worked on at JMU, start the Stewardship Luncheon video at about 22:30 and hear how Gladys Lisanby supports the arts. (Video production by Justin Roth.)
In 2020, all of our events moved online, and I continued to create multichannel promotion plans using segmented email, social media (organic posts and paid ads), display ads in print magazine and alumni e-newsletter placement. Response was excellent even during the height of online meeting fatigue. For the "Women Who Amaze" summit (left) in May 2020, we registered 250+ and passively raised more than $5,500.
